Winter Storage Season 2025-2026

Thank you for choosing us for your boating needs. As fall approaches, it's time to prepare for the upcoming winter storage season. Please review our storage policies and procedures below, then complete and sign the required form below.

Haul-Out Scheduling

Your selected haul-out date serves as a target only. Actual scheduling depends on availability and weather conditions. To ensure placement on our haul-out schedule, please submit your completed form promptly.

Facility Access Space is limited

Please do not leave your boat at our docks without prior authorization from our office. Please note we are closed weekends following Columbus Day.

Keys & Access Keys

They must be left in your boat before pickup. Please indicate the key location on your haul-out form. A fee will apply for boats without accessible keys.

Spring Launch

You'll receive a spring launch request in March. We require three weeks' notice for your preferred launch date. Like fall haul-out, spring launch dates are targets—we reserve the right to deliver your boat up to 10 days before your requested date to accommodate scheduling needs.

Winterization Policy, Pricing & Procedures

1. Winter Storage
a) All boats for Winter Storage are due ready for pick-up no later than November 1st. We require three weeks' notice prior to the date storage is to begin. F.R. Smith & Sons Marina may take up to one week after your scheduled date to retrieve your boat. Please remember this when selecting your date. We will try to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee pick-up on a specific date.

b) As weather changes rapidly in the Northeast, freeze-ups are always possible. We cannot be responsible for boats scheduled for haul-out after Wednesday, October 9th.

c) The owners warrant and affirmatively state that they have adequate hull and liability insurance for said boat for the duration of storage at F.R. Smith & Sons Marina. F.R. Smith & Sons Marina has relied on this affirmative assurance and will not provide supplementary or primary insurance coverage for damage or loss other than such loss caused by the negligence of F.R. Smith & Sons Marina or its employees. F.R. Smith & Sons Marina shall not be liable for any loss of, damage to, or loss of use of the above referenced boat caused by any reason, including, but not limited to, fire, theft, storm, lightning, wind, or snow.

d) It is the sole responsibility of the owners to remove all personal belongings and items prior to pickup. F.R. Smith and Sons Mariana shall not be liable or responsible for damage to or loss of any articles. While we do our best to keep pests out of our storage lots, we cannot guarantee keeping them out of your boat. Please make every effort to remove any liquids and paper products from your boat.

e) Please ensure your key is left in the boat

f) Please leave at least four ropes attached to your boat.

g) Please have covers installed on the boat for pick up.

h) We do not have a pump out facility for toilets. It is the boat owner’s responsibility to have it pumped out.

i) Inside storage is available on a very limited basis. Unfortunately, we do not have inside storage available for new customers at this time.

j) Wood boat storage for a new customer requires a meeting with the Service Manager. Very limited space is available for wood boats at this time.

2. Winter Storage Rates *Storage rates are priced by the linear foot and include the services outlined below:
  i) Outside Storage with shrink wrap $73.95/ft

 ii) Inside storage with customers mooring cover $83.95/ft (No New Availability)

iii) Wood boat storage $103.95/ft

3. Services Included with Winter Storage Rates:
a) Haul-out (Labor Only)

b) Winterize engine (Labor Only)

c) Change gearcase lubricant (Labor only)

d) Wash bottom (Labor only)

e) Disconnect battery

f) Shrink wrap boat for outside storage.

4. Fall Services & Rates for Boats Not in Storage with the Marina:
a) All services completed at hourly rate of $192/hr.

b) Remote services billed at $212/hr.

c) Shrink wrap*- $36/linear ft (includes labor)

d) Bottom acid wash- $23/linear ft (includes labor)

e) Haul-out, winterization services, and engine services- charged by the hourly rate ($192/hr.) with a minimum one- hour charge plus parts. Use of service boat, hydraulic trailers, yard trailers, blocking and boat stands, trucks and equipment are billed separately.

5. Billing

a) Your storage will be billed once the boat is hauled out of the water for service and storage.

b) Payment is due Upon Receipt of your bill.
