BOAT RENTAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Rental Hours

    • Standard Daily Rentals: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (9-hour rental day) 
    • Extended hours available by request (additional fees apply) 
    • Early morning and late evening pickups may be available for multi-day rentals 

  • Age & Licensing

    • All renters must be 21 years or older 
    • Valid state-issued driver's license required (any US state) 
    • ID will be verified and photocopied at time of rental 

  • Mandatory Boater's Safety Video

    All renters MUST watch our Lake George Boater's Safety Video before departure. This 15-minute video covers: 


    • Lake George boating regulations and speed limits 
    • No-wake zones and restricted areas 
    • Navigation basics and reading markers 
    • Weather awareness and what to do in emergencies 
    • Proper life jacket usage and requirements 
    • Courteous boating etiquette 

    The video must be watched on rental premises before keys are released. 

  • Boat Orientation

    Our experienced staff will provide hands-on orientation covering: 


    • Starting and stopping the engine safely 
    • Steering, throttle control, and trim tabs 
    • Gauge and instrument operation 
    • Anchor deployment and retrieval 
    • Bilge pump location and operation 
    • Emergency shut-off procedures 
    • VHF radio operation (if equipped) 
    • Where to find safety equipment 

    You won't leave the dock until you feel completely comfortable operating the boat. 

  • Security Deposit

    • Security deposit required at time of rental via credit card 
    • Refunded upon return of boat in good condition 
    • Amount varies by boat type (typically $500-$1,000) 
    • Covers minor damage, excessive cleaning, or fuel shortfall 

  • Cancellation Policy

    • 3+ days notice: Full refund less $50 processing fee 
    • Less than 3 days: 50% refund or full credit toward future rental 
    • Weather cancellations: Full refund at captain's discretion for safety 
    • No-shows: No refund 

  • Fuel Policy

    • Gasoline is NOT included in rental fees 
    • Return with full tank or pay refueling fee 
    • Premium marine fuel available at our gas dock
